Did you know?

Stress affects 1 in 3 adults in Europe and North America and according to the World Health Organization is no. 1 health epidemic of the twenty first century. Stress has become the plague of our time; a global epidemic that is spreading. The World Health Organization raised the alarm 20 years ago and said stress had become the biggest health issue of the 21st century.

It takes 23 minutes to get back on task.

One of the consequences of current life, is that our minds are in a constant state of 'partial attention'. When our minds flip back and forth it's unproductive. It has a cost for business and a cost for people. Technology has supercharged the pace of life and business. Interruptions, the onslaught of email and being able to connect with the world 24/7 is getting in the way of what we're trying to get done and plays havoc with our attention. And did you know...it takes 23 minutes to get back on task after our attention is yanked away (2006 study Gloria Mark, University of California). It’s not just a problem for individual workers, it’s an institutional problem.

Many of us are having trouble coping.

Stress leads to increased conflict, decreased morale and puts strain on families and working relationships. It decreases performance and productivity and most of the time we're unaware of the degree to which stress is taxing our resources. In fact, much of our lifestyle undermines our health, exhausting us physically and mentally without our being consciously aware of it.
